Questions & Answers
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used medical procedures in the world. Originating in China more than 2,000 years ago, acupuncture began to become better known in the United States in 1971, when New York Times reporter James Reston wrote about how doctors in China used needles to ease his pain after surgery.
The term acupuncture describes a family of procedures involving stimulation of anatomical points on the body by a variety of techniques. American practices of acupuncture incorporate medical traditions from Korea, China, Japan , and other countries. The acupuncture technique that has been most studied scientifically involves penetrating the skin with thin, solid, metallic needles that are manipulated by the hands.
What is TOYOHARI©?
Toyohari© is a form of traditional East Asian medicine. It is a refined system of Japanese meridian therapy. It is different from most other forms of acupuncture in that it uses more delicate (often non-inserted) and specialized treatment methods, placing great emphasis on the use of pulse diagnosis and palpation skills. Its theoretical foundation is derived from the medical classics: Nei Jing, Su Wen, Ling Shu and primarily the Nan Jing.
How does acupuncture work?
This highly effective system of medical care is based on natural laws, which govern the movement of vital life giving energy, both in nature and in the body. This energy, called Qi or "chi", moves through the body in precise channels supporting functions of the body, mind and spirit. When the Qi is moving disharmoniously, imbalance begins to surface in the form of specific symptoms. Symptoms are the bodies wisdom prompting us to awaken to our lives newly. To address the underlying cause of a condition, these symptoms are viewed in relationship to the totality of a person. The gentle insertion of hair thin needles at specific points along the channels, help restore harmony. In the presence of this subtle yet profound intervention, symptoms often resolve and patients frequently experience renewed vitality. Acupuncture treats the deeper underlying cause as well as the symptoms.
What is Quantum-Touch?
“Quantum-Touch is a significant breakthrough in hands-on healing… an essential and invaluable skill for every lay person and professional practitioner.”—Alternative Medicine Magazine
“Quantum-Touch appears to be the first technique that may truly allow us all to become healers.”—Dr. C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D.
“Quantum-Touch is a remarkably effective and easily learned method of generating powerful healing energy.”—Dr. William S. Eidelman, M.D.
“Quantum-Touch teaches simple breathing and body awareness exercises that can be easily learned by everyone." Richard Gordon, the author of the book "Quantum Touch" writes: "Over the past eight years, I have taught QT to well over 4000 people. Without exception, professional practitioners of the various modalities have told me that this work can be seamlessly combined with what they know, and in most cases it has transformed their practice. This list includes chiropractors, osteopaths, physical therapists, acupuncturists, cranial sacral therapists, chi gung instructors, and reiki masters, to name but a few. Lay people discover an elegant and profound hands-on healing method that they can effectively use.”
In principal, the Quantum-Touch practitioner learns to focus and amplify life-force energy, which is most often referred to as “Chi” or “Prana.” This is accomplished by combining various breathing and body awareness exercises. When the practitioner holds a high vibrational field of life-force energy around an affected area, through a process of resonance and entrainment, the client naturally matches the vibration of the practitioner, allowing one’s own biological intelligence to do whatever healing it deems necessary.
What is Body Talk?
BodyTalk is an astonishingly simple and effective form of therapy that allows the body's energy systems to be re-synchronized so that they can operate as nature intended. Each system, cell and atom is in constant communication with each other at all times. Through exposure to the stresses of day-to-day life, these lines of communication become compromised, which then leads to a decline in physical, emotional and/or mental well-being. Reconnecting these lines of communication enables the body's mechanisms to function at optimal levels, thus preventing disease and rapidly accelerating the healing process. In this way, BodyTalk stimulates the body's innate ability to balance and heal itself. BodyTalk can be used as a stand-alone system to treat many health problems or can be seamlessly integrated into any health care system to increase its effectiveness.
BodyTalk's major assets are its simplicity, safety, and the speed of its results. It is non-invasive, objective in application, and works effectively on humans and animals alike. Even if a BodyTalk technique is performed incorrectly, it simply means that there will be no result or change. It will not make things worse. It follows, therefore, that anyone who receives BodyTalk has nothing to lose and everything to gain as far as their health is concerned.
